4 Easy Recipes to Make Teppanyaki at Home

By Kyrié the Foodié Back to Recipes

Going out for teppanyaki is always a fun experience – but it can also be so dang expensive, especially when you’re feeding a group. By the time you add up entrées, sides, and drinks, a teppanyaki dinner can easily cost well over $30 – $50 per person.

The good news is that you can recreate that same dinner at home for a fraction of the price. Seriously! With just a handful of simple ingredients, these four dishes come together quickly and easily. Perfect for feeding a crowd. In fact, you can make all four components in under an hour. It’s an easy, budget-friendly way to serve a restaurant-style meal that everyone can enjoy together. Even the pickiest of eaters love this meal! Here are the 4 recipes below:

1 & 2. Teppanyaki-Style Chicken and Veggies

These are a classic! When eating at teppanyaki, I always go for chicken and veggies. The seared chicken and crisp vegetables quickly cooked on the hot griddle with soy sauce are ridiculously easy to mimic at home. I have the recipe for both here.

3. The EASIEST Fried Rice

And of course, no one can go to teppanyaki without eating fried rice! It’s buttery and savory, with plenty of fresh garlic and ginger for that classic restaurant-style flavor.

4. Carrot-Ginger Dressing (Japanese Restaurant-Style)

Last but not least… Japanese restaurant–style carrot ginger dressing is found all over Japanese restaurants in the US (but funny enough, it’s actually not a thing in Japan!). It’s a bright, tangy dressing blended with fresh carrots, ginger, onion, rice vinegar, and oil, creating the signature sweet-savory flavor served over crisp house salads. So good!
