My Healthy Air Fryer Chicken with Bang Bang Sauce is a lighter, high-protein twist on a takeout favorite that doesn’t compromise on flavor. The chicken is air fried to golden, juicy perfection with a crispy exterior (no deep frying needed!). It is truly such a convenient and wholesome option. Perfect for weeknight dinners or meal prep, with minimal effort required.

Bang Bang Sauce Ingredients:
The star of the dish is the bang bang sauce. Typically, mayonnaise is used as the base, but to make it a bit healthier, I substitute it for Greek yogurt in this dish, and the best part is, it hardly changes the flavor! It’s still so rich and creamy.
Here are the ingredients for this sauce:
- Greek Yogurt: Creates a smooth, creamy base that brings richness and helps the sauce cling to food.
- Sweet Chili Sauce: Adds sweetness, mild heat, and a hint of tanginess for balance.
- Soy Sauce: Introduces a salty, umami depth that ties all the flavors together.
This quick, three-ingredient sauce is a game-changer – perfect for drizzling, dipping, or tossing!

For a richer, more indulgent flavor, a spoonful of mayo can be added (optional, but delicious). Or you can stick to the traditional bang bang sauce and just use mayonnaise instead of Greek yogurt.
Drizzle the sauce over the chicken or serve it on the side for dipping; either way, this healthier version of Bang Bang Chicken will keep you coming back for more!

What Should I Pair With This Dish?
Here are several delicious pairings for my Baked Crispy Salmon with Bang Bang Sauce – starting with my favorite:
- Rice Bowl: My favorite way to serve this dish! The rice soaks up all the bang bang sauce, and I love pairing it with fresh veggies like cucumber and avocado (as in the photos), or adding extras like steamed broccoli, shredded cabbage, or pickled radish for crunch and freshness.
- Tacos: Turn the salmon into a fun fusion taco by tucking it into warm tortillas with shredded cabbage, avocado, and a drizzle of bang bang sauce.
- Slaw or Shredded Cabbage: A light, crunchy slaw (tossed with sesame oil or rice vinegar) complements the rich salmon perfectly.
- Noodles: Serve with cold soba noodles or garlic sesame noodles for an Asian-inspired noodle bowl.
- Lettuce Wraps: Wrap pieces of salmon in butter lettuce with carrots, herbs, and extra sauce for a fresh, low-carb meal.
