3 Ways to Use Japanese Curry

By Kyrié the Foodié Back to Recipes

Japanese curry is versatile not only for its compatibility with different meats and vegetables but also for its adaptability in creating other dishes, too! Below are some of my favorites.

Curry Udon
(カレーうどん)

A Japanese dish featuring thick, chewy udon noodles served in a rich and flavorful curry broth, often garnished with green onions, tempura bits, and slices of meat or vegetables.

Crispy, deep-fried bread filled with a savory, spiced curry filling, offering a delicious contrast between the crunchy exterior and the flavorful, hearty interior.

Japanese Curry
(カレーライス)

First and foremost, it’s probably important that you all know how to make plain ol’ Japanese curry. It’s a rich, flavorful dish featuring a thick, savory sauce with a hint of sweetness served over rice. Made using Japanese curry roux, tender meat, and vegetables like potatoes, carrots, and onions, it’s a comforting and hearty meal.

A comforting Japanese dish that combines a crispy breaded cutlet with a rich, mildly spiced curry sauce served over rice.
