Description

Tender, juicy chicken thighs glazed in a sweet and savory honey garlic sauce with garlic, ginger, and a hint of soy.

Ingredients

Units Scale
  • 1.25 lb chicken thighs (~4 thighs)
  • 1 tsp salt, for seasoning
  • 1 tbsp unsalted butter
For the Sauce:
  • 2 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1/3 cup honey
  • 2 tbsp water
  • 5 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 1 tsp grated ginger
  • 1 tbsp rice vinegar
  • Optional: 1 tsp red pepper flakes (omit for no spice) and chopped parsley

Instructions

  1. Season the chicken with 1 tsp salt on both sides.
  2. Heat the butter in a skillet over medium-high heat. Add the chicken and sear on one side for a few minutes until golden.
  3. Flip the chicken and reduce heat to low. Cook for a few more minutes.
  4. Add the sauce ingredients (soy sauce, honey, water, garlic, black pepper, ginger, rice vinegar, and red pepper flakes if using) to the pan.
  5. Simmer on low, spooning the sauce over the chicken, until the sauce thickens and the chicken is fully cooked, about 3 – 5 minutes. Top with chopped parsley.
  6. Serve hot, spooning extra sauce over the chicken. Perfect with rice or steamed veggies.
